Yenkonkoa provides a ride-hailing platform that connects customers with drivers in Ghana. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information.

Information we collect

  • Account information: name, phone number, email address, and password hash.
  • Location data: precise and coarse location to match rides and track trips in progress.
  • Driver verification documents: Ghana card, driver’s licence, and a selfie photo.
  • Payment information: payment provider reference and transaction status.
  • Device data: app preferences stored locally on your device.

How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To match customers with nearby drivers.
  • To process and record ride payments.
  • To verify driver identity and eligibility.
  • To provide customer support and ensure safety.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited information between customers and drivers (name, phone, photo, location) only as needed to complete a trip.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account from the app settings. Deletion marks your account inactive and stops further use of your data; retained records are kept only as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as dispute resolution.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including password hashing and encrypted network communication. Driver documents are stored securely and accessed only by authorised personnel.
